  • Lot #762 - 1899-S PCGS MS-65
  • Dimes-Barber
  • 12 graded MS-65, 17 higher at PCGS. As with many Barber dimes, the gem population drops off a cliff for 1899-S, this one being above-average in terms of visual appeal. The generally orange-beige obverse features a substantial swath of indigo and cinnamon-magenta around two-thirds of the periphery while a hint of similar coloration spills over on the reverse left edge. A fully struck example filled with vigorous luster.

  • Hammer: $3,000
  • World Coins-Mexico
  • KM#104.2, Mexico City mint, Ferdinand VI. 1 graded MS-62, zero finer at either service, making this the probably finest known example of the popular overdate. Hairline scratches scribbled into the obverse far right field (undoubtedly limiting the grade) are fortuitously toned into this album survivor that also boasts subdued, peripheral rainbow toning.

  • Lot #337 - 1854 Type 2 PCGS MS-62+

  • Gold Dollars-Indian Princess Head, Small Head
  • Remarkably free from abrasions, the assigned grade seems too low as the surfaces simply look choice. Close inspection of the clashed surfaces finds faint, feathery hairlines that really don't seem to impeded eye-appeal whatsoever.
