Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1824/2 PCGS MS-64
Lot Number: 893
Description: JR-1, R.3. This is the common "flat top 1" die-marriage with the first "A" in AMERICA nearly centered over the "U" below. While somewhat heavy, dusky patina endows the entire surface -- looking almost identical to iron-oxide (i.e. "rust") -- percolating luster strives mightily to rise to the top and energizes the overall ruby-brown visual presentation. A rather noticeable linear strikethrough lies across the final two stars on the obverse, undoubtedly a tiny wire fragment that got lost between the dies during production. While noticeably flatly struck (as always), one can find simply no abrasions nor faults upon the surface.
