Lot Number: 892
Description: JR-8 (state b) and showing a tiny die lump adhering to the top of the scroll left of UNUM, as well as a prominent die-crack above the eagle's left (observed) shoulder. An intriguing example, the flashy appearance has some prooflike tendencies since the dies were heavily repolished prior to striking. While inspecting the surface carefully, one runs across what appears at first to be a quick scratch at "OF A" yet the cataloger suggests it is actually a strike-through. A needle sharp example that features ocean-blue and indigo surrounding peach-magenta on the obverse, with a similar color scheme on the reverse joined by lightened silvery flickers.
