Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1831 PCGS MS-65
Lot Number: 690
Description: Overton-111. The bottoms of the digits in the date are joined by a die-crack that is only seen for this die-marriage. Struck during a common stage of the dies, the peripheral areas are somewhat drawn to the edge, and along with additional die-cracks, causes noticeable deforming of the stars. That says nothing, however, about the allure of this terrific "gem:", which boasts flaring luster and some coloration toward the rims. There, ruby-gold, platinum-blue and violet hues suggest long-term album storage. Three tiny reed marks near the end of the bust are the only intrusions worth mentioning.
