Lot Title: 1928-D PCGS MS-65FH
Lot Number: 762
Description: Forest Park Collection II. 35 graded MS-65 FH, 24 higher at PCGS. Ex-ICG MS-66 FH. The consignor removed this lockdown full-head candidate from its ICG holder and submitted it to PCGS perhaps fifteen years ago, where it has resided ever since its single point downgrade. Aside from a pair of minute ticks on the drapery at far left of the obverse and a singular tick in the reverse right field, the surface appears to be free from abrasion. Russet-honey patina douses most of the frosty luster, gathering a bit of density toward the rims, especially toward the obverse upper left. As alluded, the details at Liberty's head are unfathomably sharp for a Denver product of this era, although the shield inevitably loses a bit of definition at a couple of rivets. A very difficult and typically underrated issue at the "gem" level.
