Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1795 Centered Bust PCGS VF-25
Lot Number: 236
Description: M. Diatom Collection. Bolender-15, BB-52 is one of two "draped bust, centered portrait" die-marriages for 1795, and B-15 is most easily distinguished by counting only six berries on the left branch of the wreath, rather than the seven seen for B-14. For the relatively middling grade of VF-25, there is no denying the visual appeal of this silky, lovely powder grey example. Smooth, honest wear, and not untoward damage, is the sole determinant of grade since the very limited contact marks are tiny and entirely unobtrusive. A handful of adjustment marks may be seen at the very top of the obverse, but they stray away from the primary design elements.
