Description: M. Diatom Collection. B-1, BB-21 has the "7" in the date repunched over an errant "1", the top of the point of the first star just barely embedded into the bottom of the hair curl above, and on the reverse, 9 berries left and 10 berries right complete die-marriage attribution. A smooth and highly appealing example with modestly bright undertones, the obverse exhibits attractive pewter-grey tendencies, while some definite yellowish-grey emanates from the reverse. Surface marks and large abrasions can sometimes be a distraction for early dollars, but not so this humble and tenacious survivor. A small, triangular defect clings to the bottom of the bust and makes future provenance possible. Adjustment marks are unobtrusively relegated to the reverse.
