Lot Title: 1795 2 Leaves PCGS VG details/plugged
Lot Number: 234
Description: Bolender-1, BB-21 has the top right point of the first star just barely adhering to the curl above, the top left point of the final star points inline with the far right edge of Liberty's bust. On the reverse are the "2 leaves" referenced by PCGS, with additional PUPs being the positioning of two leaves beneath the final "A" and the final "S" positioned completely left of the gap in the leaves below. The coin was pierced early on and coarsely plugged much later, and a professional could make the cosmetically unappealing plug look much better with a bit of engraving work. Such "doctoring" may be frowned upon by some, but aesthetics are important to any collector. PCGS implies "very good" sharpness, but at best, what is left might barely reach that level, with virtually no internal outlining visible, even though the primary features are boldly visible.
