Description: Almost always seen without the silvered surfaces, the present Success medal presents virtually all of its decorative coloration, albeit faded and touched on the high points by slight wear. It is almost certain that the 'wear' occurred as a result of ownership, as the entire planchet seems to be free from any contact marks. Struck on a superb planchet that displays none of the fissures or laminations often seen, the die crack that extends through and past Washington's nose shows only ghostly presence, as if this medal were struck just as the die was about to fail..
