Description: Alpha Collection. Baker-265 (R.6) exhibits a plain edge on a large, thin flan, and is a rare Redbook entry, struck in brass. This is the die-state always seen, with an arcing die crack plainly visible on the obverse, leading to a sunken die, and uneven striking pressure. The pleasing olive-gold color seen here is just about perfect for the type, and moderate wear, along with very shallow die engraving, explains the smooth, boldly outlined, but minimally detailed sharpness. A couple of ancient pinscratches on the reverse should not impeded the very-fine grade level.
