Lot Title: 1855 Cent Pattern, J-167 Original, PCGS PR-63BN (shield)
Lot Number: 439
Description: Judd-167 bears a flying eagle obverse, and reverse ONE CENT design not dissimilar from that of the matron head cents. The eagle motif depicted on the obverse of the near-large-cent-sized strongly evokes that actually seen on small-cent flying eagle type. This is an exceptionally attractive example at the brown choice level, displaying utterly delectable chocolate patina with a light dusting of greyish sprinkles. Struck in copper with a plain edge, it is a very popular pattern among aficionados of large-cents, as well as flying eagle cent enthusiasts.
