Description: VAM-3 offers the famous "capped die" reverse, and in this early die-state, no die-clashes will be found, helping to ensure considerable strength of detail on either side. Indeed, the freshened dies, as denoted by the PCGS "PL" designation, failed to bring up perfect detail really only over the ear, where delicate roller marks remain faintly present. A delightful, original dollar, the obverse features evidence of amber-peach at the rims, as well as traces of cobalt at the most extreme peripheral locations. At first glance, modest upgrade potential seems evident until one locates shallow but fairly numerous abrasions at the bottom of the neck.
