Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1879-CC PCGS MS-63
Lot Number: 584
Description: VAM-4 shows slight doubling at the inner left of the second "C". The obverse fields have carefully avoided contact, helping to elevate the grade to the choice level despite moderate abrading of the cheek. For some reason, this seems to be the most prevalent situation for an 1879-CC in better mint-state grades - abraded devices and pretty fields. A faint touch of apricot-grey blankets the surface. Astute collectors of the series will recognize that this is a sharper-than-average example, showing dynamic details throughout the eagle's breast feathers, as well as near-perfect delineation in the hair curls and cotton bolls.
