Description: As a single-year type coin, the 1859 Indian cent in proof format has to be one of the most coveted cents for collectors of the series in presentation format. NGC gives this exuberant example full gem status, and despite lacking a cameo designation (exceedingly few 1859s are worthy of that distinction), the fields nevertheless benefit from mild reflectivity. Ideal color for a carefully preserved example shows olive-tan patina overall, accented by ruby-gold dashes.
