Description: Gavin "John" Rose Collection. WB-102 incorporates use of the "medium date" obverse with the newer "reverse of 1842" to create this Redbook entry. Platinum-slate patina consumes this example, enlivened by subtle chartreuse-gold patina that dances into view under certain lighting angles. A noticeably crisp strike has rendered all the major details with precision, although trivial softness can be seen at the eagle's talons. The most noticeable upgrade deterrent might be a pair of brief scratches off the extreme right side of the reverse.
