Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1901-S PCGS F details/cleaning
Lot Number: 486
Description: PCGS merely states "cleaning" for this, THE unchallenged key to the Barber quarter series, but close examination of the surface finds some very curious roughness suggestive of something more than mere "soap and water". It appears that the cheek has been expertly smoothed in order to diminish the unwanted effect of innumerable tiny pits in the vicinity. Nonetheless, every single Barber quarter collector knows of the extreme difficulty in locating a 1901-S with full LIBERTY, and this example shows all seven letters, essentially full and complete, on the headband. Understanding the noted caveats, the coin really is not that bad looking given the consistent aluminum-grey finish now applied overall.
