Description: Briggs 1-A attributes simply by the hand-engraved mintmark, connoted as the "huge O" in commercial references. While not really all that rare in low grades, this is a very difficult issue to locate in any grade that warrants strong LIBERTY and very bold details overall. Dusky russet-brown patina drapes the surface here, giving an appearance reminiscent of a copper coin. An exceedingly original example that deserves spirited bidding, especially given that there are absolutely no distracting contact marks or spots to be noted.
