Description: Extraordinary, fully vintage chocolate-brown patina dominates the planchet and provides much nicer visual quality than is often seen for these earlier colonial pieces. Remarkable and aesthetically pleasing satin-smooth patina appears within the fields, ceding to only minor smoothness on the highpoints where slight wear can be detected. Although properly graded AU-58, it is difficult to imagine that an UNC example could offer much above what this piece does, aside from the lack of any vintage mint red.
