Description: The city of Vancouver is of course in Canada, but Fort Vancouver is in the state of Washington. The Vancouver half dollar was struck to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of this base. As was ordinary with many of the early twentieth century classic silver commemoratives, a tremendous amount ended up being saved, ultimately creating a population that averages choice uncirculated condition or better. This particular gem is of stupendous quality, and displays darkened prismatic and kaleidoscope toning. (CE)
