Description: Another common late-19th-century gold coin from Philadelphia, this $20 Liberty Head coin is graded Mint State-60 Prooflike. The denomination wasn’t exactly a staple of commerce, but this example features enough indications of use to suggest that it may have been moved among multiple bank vaults. Perhaps the PL surfaces explain why this has survived in a “slab” intact. (JS)
