As the population report affirms, 1901 is among the more available 20th century proof half-eagle strikings, although a true DCAM example like this will always find ready suitors. Few numismatic items are prettier than DCAM liberty gold and this one exhibits astonishing mirrors contrasted against fluffy texture atop the design elements. A tiny grey dot resting at the corner of Liberty's mouth may be the only potential provenance marker since otherwise, the surface displays zero distractions whatsoever.
