Lot Title: Mexico - 1914-GRO peso PCGS MS-61, and a 1915 Oaxaca 6th Bust peso NGC MS-63
Lot Number: 214
Description: A pair of silver pesos from Mexico’s Revolutionary period. Don’t be dissuaded by the granular surface and weak strike on this peso from Guerrero – that’s typical for the type. When people are at war, coins aren’t always the top priority! One of 10 at this grade combined at PCGS and NGC, it’s a high enough grade to merit bidding, while not breaking the bank. The other piece in this lot comes from Oaxaca and features a bust of Benito Juarez, the first Indigenous president of Mexico, with a golden halo. Scratches and reverse strike weakness are present, but add character to this appealing short-lived emission. (JS)
Estimate: $700-$800
