Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1814 Crosslet 4 S-294 VF/burnished, and an 1840 small date Coronet Head large cent N-4 XF
Lot Number: 1008
Description: J.H. Consingnment. A pair of high-end-appearing circulated large cents will immediately appeal to a broad audience of type collectors. First is 1814 S-294 that has been carefully burnished such as to appear nearly smooth to the eye, and the surface now exhibits consistent leather-brown color over very few noticeable marks. Accompanying is 1840 N-4 (R.3) "small date", seen here in Grellman die-state "a" which appears to be substantially more difficult than the more-often seen "b". Two coin lot.
PCGS #: 1573
Estimate: $800-$1,000
Lot Status: This lot is not yet open for bidding.

Please Note: An 18% Buyers' Premium is added to the hammer price of all lots in this sale.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, CACG, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
