Description: Mintage: 20,000. 48 graded AU-58, 22 higher at NGC. One of the lowest emissions within the series means the 1844 is a difficult acquisition in any grade, and this is a particularly nice example at the gem AU level. Fragile golden-grey patina is surrounded by hints of sky-blue on the obverse while the reverse consistently shows overall golden hue. A couple of notable marks spit out of Liberty's mouth while the rest of the surface, rather nicely preserved, features only scattered random handling nicks.
