Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1799 PCGS G-4
Lot Number: 870
Description: Elm Then Almond Collection. Sheldon-189, a famously near-impossible key date to get straight-graded at any major grading service. Contrary to many low-grade pieces that have either a weak date or LIBERTY, this example features a nicely bold date, and LIBERTY has partial weakness only at the upper third of each letter. The coin was struck off of early dies, showing a small die chip between "E" of ONE and "T" of CENT -- a worthy diagnostic as to authenticity. An amazingly nice surface for the grade given the utter lack of environmental effects aside from normal circulation.
