Description: A.S.M. Consignment. Oliver Crook & Co. was in business from 1867 through 1875 and was aptly named for snake-oil tonics such as the "Vegetable Syphilitic Remedy" and "Tar Wine Medicine", advertised in various Ohio newspapers during the mid-late 19th century. This advertising note grades only Fine according to PMG but portions have become separated and subsequently tape-repaired. A highly unusual note with curious vignettes and a disclaimer on the back stating "IT IS NO QUACK REMEDY".
