Description: Bert Davies Collection. Strong D per the cataloger, as the coin was certified long before PCGS began using the designation. There is no doubt about the boldness of the "D" on the reverse of this "slider UNC" key. Although subdued luster infiltrates both sides, the color shimmers beautifully with royal gold hue. Struck better-than-average for 1911-D and showing touch friction only where patina thins to pale moonbeam-gold.
