Description: L&M-77, original strike. Sharpness of detail reveals this to be a 1920 emission rather than a later restrike, and the gorgeous, shimmering luster fits right in as well with the overall choice appearance. Indeed, the coin should have graded no less than a point higher if not for an as-struck and perhaps unsightly planchet defect on the jaw of Yuan Shikai. A tiny dot of glue rests near the top of the head, and on the reverse, at least a couple more small blotches of glue would be better off removed.
