Description: Offshore Technician Consignment. Winter 2-C. Mintage: 4,164. 8 graded AU-53, 6 higher at PCGS. Notoriously elusive in problem-free condition, many 1841-D quarter-eagles come to market with problems such as surface damage or cleaning, and it is certainly a pleasure to encounter a certified AU example like this showing no mentionable issues aside from light wear. Glinting surfaces may have been slightly flashy, or even semi-prooflike upon striking. Nicer corn-gold hues layer almost entirely over the surface, evading some lemon-yellow areas next to the devices.
