A blatant grade-rarity, out of a mintage nearly 20-thousand pieces, 1845-D assuredly has fewer than a handful of pieces extant at the mint-state grade level. Distinct luster emanates from both sides of this abraded yet uncirculated coin, and both sides suggest a generally decent strike for the date. Good white light reveals butter-yellow patina overall, accented with faint splashes of crimson-gold.
