Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1917 Type 2 and a 1926, both PCGS MS-64FH
Lot Number: 899
Description: T. W. J. Collection. While type-1 examples are seemingly always perfectly struck, such is not always the case for 1917 type-2 quarters. Yet this is an extraordinary example. Modest smoke-grey toning cannot detract at all from full head and full shield details beneath a sizzling array of lustrous effects. It is simply a great coin for the grade, as is the 1926, which shimmers brightly beneath a limited supply of champagne toning. Here again, the strike goes above and beyond "full head" although precision does not quite reach the level of its companion. Two coin lot.
