Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1917 Type 1 MS-63FH, and a 1917-D Type 1 MS-62FH, both PCGS
Lot Number: 890
Description: Remarkably well-matched, these are near-twins when set side by side, especially with respect to the exquisite detailing expected of early type-1 examples. The Philadelphia example, endowed with yolk-gold toning overall, actually appears slightly nicer than the assigned MS-63 given the lack of central abrasions, but perhaps it lacks the intensity of luster demanded for an upgrade. 1917-D shows comparable color with additional Arctic-blue iridescence, but a very few fleeting hairlines on the reverse may limit upgrade potential. Two coin lot.
