Lot Title: 1793 Wreath, Vine, and Bars NGC VF details/corrosion
Lot Number: 592
Description: The Crimson Collection. Sheldon-11 (R.4+) die-marriage, edge not reviewed. The slab references "vine and bars" but if S-11a, then this would be the scarcest edge type. For a wreath cent denounced by NGC has having "corrosion", this is an outstanding example with considerable eye-appeal Evenly layered microporosity has much less negative impact than one might be used to, and the coin exhibits pleasing two-toned contrast -- mahogany on the upper details and ebony-brown within the fields. Because the coin has simply no marks of even moderate nature, and has none of the pits and scars that often visit the type, the visual appeal is going to drive this one well above the usual bids for such a large-cent with disclaimers.
