Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1793 Wreath, Vine, and Bars PCGS F details/edge damaged
Lot Number: 591
Description: Sheldon-9, and evidently die-state III judging by the die cracks on the reverse. The obverse has seen plenty of wear, but not so much that the die cracks for IV would be completely worn away. So let's stick with III. Close examination during attribution reveals three or so hairline scratches through the front of Liberty's face and a dull nick in the obverse upper right field, while the reverse has a mentionable rim nick at 4:00. PCGS references "edge damage" and it appears that someone has inexplicably attempted to create a reeded edge for the coin. Later, a further attempt was made to smooth away the curious parallel lines.
