Lot Title: 1942 Proof Set in a Capital Plastics holder
Lot Number: 231
Description: Due to very limited demand and poor packaging the earliest years of the modern United States proof sets (1936-42) are increasingly difficult to attain. This five piece 1942 proof set is safely housed in a Capital plastics holder and has great collector appeal. An original and highly attractive combination of royal purple and russet tones are dusted all over the three silver issues while a traditional steely grey appeal describes the Jefferson nickel. The Lincoln cent has a red and brown color scheme with a fairly muted surface appeal (ck).

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
