Lot Title: Four early silver type coins, better die-marriages
Lot Number: 209
Description: Tobacco Road Collection. Three have been encapsulated, but only two show attribution on the holder. An 1819 B-4 (R.4) quarter starts out (NCS genuine/cleaned, but perhaps a ludicrous assessment as the coin looks like a fully original VG example), followed by a non-certified 1836 O-107 (R.4) half-dollar (XF, and just barely so but tinged with luster and hints of better iridescent toning). A pair of certified half-dollars includes: 1819 O-115 (PCGS VF-30, steely and a trifle dark due to an old cleaning but bold as can be) and 1825 O-109 (R.5) (ICG VF-20, looks undergraded by several points and offers unexpectedly attractive ebony-blue and magenta-grey toning). Four coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
