Description: Bolender-19, BB-192. Here is an outstanding early dollar for the specialist, and one that might be easily overlooked. Strictly speaking, the "choice fine" grade will not seem all that impressive, but what could make this Redbook dollar special is the die-state. The B-19 usually turns up with die cracks, the result of multiple clashes throughout the life of the dies, and in an early die-state, some parallel lines should be raised up left of the date. This coin displays neither anomaly, leading the cataloger to wonder if it was struck off dies even earlier than BB die-state I. A small raised lump in the field, generally between the first star and "1" in the date is noted, and not typically mentioned for other examples.
