Description: The Bert Davies Collection. KM#214.8, Dav-3264. Hungary-Leopold I, Kremnitz mint. Obviously well cared for from the moment it was plucked from (brief) circulation, it's a wonder to imagine the centuries of history witnessed by these immensely collectable thalers. Marvelous creme-grey decorates the entire surface save the pewter highlights that have been gently rubbed within the design elements. The portrait accurately reflects Leopold I's "Habsburg Jaw", prevalent in the House of Habsburg and notably depicted in other portraiture.
