Lot Title: Hungary - 1631 thaler KM-75, DAV-3129 - AU
Lot Number: 140
Description: KM#75. Early technology to strike such a wide flan upon thin stock usually resulted in the 1631-KB 1-thaler being weakly struck, but this is a remarkable example that boasts intricate details despite a few points worth of wear. Some hairlining of the surface undoubtedly caused the pale and somewhat bright appearance, yet potential bidders should not be dissuaded when this much sharpness comes to the table. The top rim as viewed from the obverse has become slightly displaced, possibly from a test mark but the eye-appeal is undeniable for this large and impressive coin.
