Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1881-CC PCGS MS-66PL
Lot Number: 488
Description: 30 graded MS-66 PL, 7 higher at PCGS. Although 1881-CC boasts the fourth lowest mintage across the Morgan dollar series, it is merely a "better date" coin due to a high number that were saved in bag quantities. Nevertheless, any MS-66 PL example immediately enters the realm of extreme grade-rarity since perhaps three dozen or so are known to be so fine. This example instantly quashes any possible doubt as the fields offer excellent depth for the grade, falling perhaps midway between PL and DMPL. Thick piles of mint frost adorn the devices, which themselves are exceedingly well delineated. A powerhouse example!
