Description:	A trio of Indian peace medals (each measures 76 millimeters) makes an appearance for this highly appealing offering. First is 1817 James Monroe, Julian IP-8. The dies were designed by Mortiz Furst and John Reich. Obv: JAMES MONROE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A.D.1817 surrounding portrait of Monroe. Rev: PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP interspersed with crossed peace pipe and tomahawk, and clasped hands. The lower left index finger points to "F" of FRIENDSHIP. Deeper brunette hue layers this example, with occasional reddish splashes. Second is 1845 James K Polk, Julian IP-24. Obv: JAMES K POLK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES / 1845 surrounding portrait of Polk. Rev: PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP interspersed with crossed peace pipe and tomahawk, and clasped hands. The lower left index finger points to "R" of FRIENDSHIP. Pleasing mahogany with occasional thinning of the patina to reveal reddish undertones. Third and last is Zachary Taylor, Julian IP-27. Obv: ZACHARY TAYLOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES / 1849 surrounding portrait of Taylor. Rev: PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP interspersed with crossed peace pipe and tomahawk, and clasped hands. The lower left index finger points to "R" of FRIENDSHIP. Light chocolate patina with dusky accents around the peripheral lettering, and choice surfaces (or nearly so).
