Lot Title: 1795 PCGS VF-35
Lot Number: 636
Description: The Mastodon Collection. Logan-McCloskey-10 is a more common (R.3), if less distinguished die-marriage in the early die-state. Most often seen with a large cud over "TY", that visual aid is not available for the present early example. The best way to begin attribution is to look at the enclosed lozenge shape formed by the juncture of the first star and the lower curl. On the reverse, "ER" are separate from the wing, and the point of a leaf ends just at the right edge of the "T" above. This is an extremely original example, laboring with love beneath a heavy blanket of battleship-grey and charcoal patina. There appear to be no adjustment marks, and the few abrasions present are of no consequence at this grade level.
