Lot Title: Jefferson Wartime nickel set in a Capital Plastics holder
Lot Number: 635
Description: The Alabama Collection. There is no truer testament to the fortitude and strength of the United States than the collective effort that was made during the dark times of WWII. While no one would ever question that the soldiers abroad made the most courageous of sacrifices for our freedom, there were many sacrifices being made back home to aid in the winning war effort as well. The sudden and short lived change in metals demands created this wonderful and short lived series known as the war time nickels. Due to the 35% silver alloy there is now Jefferson nickels that boast color schemes that were never before possible. Electric greens buddy up with royal purples and faint swatches of calming blues to make this eleven coin set absolutely pop! Housed in a Capital plastics display board featuring the famous image of soldiers planting the American flag makes this possibly the most patriotic item in the entire sale. God Bless America (ck)!
