Description: 142 graded MS-67, 16 higher (all MS-67+) at PCGS. Not one single 1898 has ever surpassed MS-67 except by virtue of a "plus" sign, at PCGS. The present example is obviously every bit of a "superb gem" and more, given the magnificent level of preservation. Devices are decisively struck in all areas and the appeal benefits from prodigious mint frost emanating from every corner of the surface. Merely superfluous contact points and perhaps a couple of carbon flecks account for grade-limiting factors.
