Lot Title: Five certified 1942 Proof coins
Lot Number: 964
Description: KVK Collection. In 1942 our country was dealing with the outbreak of the Second World War and because of this very little attention was being paid to more frivolous endeavors such as numismatics. The proof coinage from the late 1930's thorough the early 1940's were notoriously flat and typically unattractive. This concoction of five slabbed 1942 proof issues bucks the trend with a 1942 ANACS PF-65RD Lincoln cent, a 1942 PCI PR-65 Type 1 Jefferson nickel, a 1942-P NGC PR-66 Type 2 Jefferson nickel, a 1942 NGC PR-66Mercury dime, and lastly a 1942 PCGS PR-65 Washington quarter. A wonderful start for anyone attempting to put together a 1942 proof set with the only missing element being the Walking Liberty half dollar (ck).

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
