Lot Title: 1795 PCGS VF-20 CACCAC
Lot Number: 777
Description: Andy Sheldon Consignment. Overton-131, R.4. The upper right point of the first star penetrates right into Liberty’s lower curl on the obverse, and on the reverse, the final "S" is centered precisely over the space between the two closing leaves of the wreath, and perhaps more obvious is the pattern of 7 berries on the left and 9 on the right (the upper most nearly invisible). A mere glance may prove sufficient to identify the surface as being incredibly original, as thick lavender-grey blankets the fields, and succumbs to faint olive-gold accents only near the rim. Ideal for the type, circulation rub accents the high relief portions of the design and embolden the visual relief. Never cleaned, and obviously long preserved as the precious treasure that it is, there are no important contact marks and a loupe reveals only the smaller points of contact expected of a better middle grade specimen.
