Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1917-S Type 2 PCGS MS-65FH
Lot Number: 736
Description: Forest Park Collection II. 60 graded MS-65 FH, 40 higher at PCGS. Somewhat delicate yet strongly visible splashes of ebony-brown may be seen on either side, and along with nutmeg-tan that embraces the surface, tends to reinforce the notion of a strictly original mint-state coin. All type-2 quarters are scarcer than their type-1 counterparts, but the 1917-S type-2 has proven particularly elusive at the "gem" level. Gorgeous pearl-grey shimmers subtly from the fields, but this is not a wildly lustrous coin in spite of a remarkably powerful, accurate strike. Indeed, even the shield rivets are all brought up and fully outlined, and the inner shield lines border upon absolute completeness.
