Description: Forest Park Collection II. 173 graded MS-65 FH, 135 higher at PCGS. Many collectors have observed that a 1917-S type-1 example struck to maximum precision easily rivals the best possible emissions from the Philadelphia mint. Here is such a piece. Each toe has been individually separated from its neighbors, the rims display noticeable matte texture, and one can nearly sense the piercing glare of the eagle has he soars over unmarked fields. A reasonably original example that features only the most delicate touch of roll friction on Liberty's thigh.
