Lot Title: 1909-S VDB Lincoln F, and a 1914-D NGC F-12 BN
Lot Number: 598
Description: Saul Van Morris Collection. Easily recognized as keys to the Lincoln series is this pair of moderately worn cents, both featuring attractive, original color and outstanding, humble eye-appeal. 1909-S VDB appears to warrant a split grade of "fine" on the obverse, and "very-fine" on the reverse, where the wheat lines are fully scored and the kernels within the left stalk receive much individual delineation. Let's compromise at the F-15 level. 1914-D has been certified by NGC at the straight grade of F-12, with sheaf lines just barely complete and the portrait worn mostly smooth, bearing only bold internal definition. An outstanding two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
