Description: Bert Davies Collection. No mintmark has given the United States mint as much trouble as the “S” has. Whether it is differing between type 1 and 2 or simply forgetting to put one on a coin, the “S” mintmark has always had its troubles. This two piece lot represents both struggles and are highly sought after by any proof set collector. The first component is a 1979 Type 2 proof set that is much scarcer than its Type 1 counterpart. The second component is a 1983 proof set with a No “S” Roosevelt dime. Must haves for any true proof set enthusiast (ck).
